Digital Nomad Girls go to Las Palmas!

Welcome fellow nomad ladies! After the huge success of our first retreat, we can’t wait to invite you to the second edition, this time we’re heading to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria!
We know that travelling while working has many challenges, the biggest is finding like-minded people to share your experiences with. Your tribe. That’s what the Digital Nomad Girls Retreat is all about: joining a community of location independent women to learn from, network and have fun with! Who knows, you might even find your next travel buddy or co-founder!
Location: Why Las Palmas?
Las Palmas is one of the hottest up-and-coming nomad hotspots, some even call it the new Chiang Mai of Europe. It officially has the best climate in the world, is a relaxed city with a cool beach vibe, yet lots of things to do. Las Palmas is the perfect gateway to explore Gran Canaria island, with its stunning and varied landscapes, cute port towns, and natural beauty.

What does a typical day look like?
We want to make these 10 days as special as possible, but we also know that you have to work. That’s why there will be days with fewer activities and some with more, to make sure you get the most out of your retreat, while keeping your business or freelance career going. Here’s what a typical day looks like at a DNG retreat:
MORNINGS Head down to Las Canteras beach for a morning swim or run, it’s only a few minutes from our apartments. Mornings are also a great time to get some work done at ReStation, our coworking space. On some days we will have mastermind or skillshare sessions in the mornings.
LUNCH Try some traditional Canarian food at one of the many cafes or at a restaurant along the beach side. Or cook up a storm at your apartment after a visit to the local market.
AFTERNOONS Some days we will hold our Mastermind Sessions in the afternoons, on other days you will have plenty of time to work on your business, freelance work or other projects.
EVENINGS Time to relax, treat yourself to a glass of sangria and enjoy dinner together. We will organise group dinners some of the days, others you will be free to go and explore yourself or cook a meal together at your apartment. Then it’s off to bed for a good night’s sleep before we start all over again.
Explore Las Palmas
Las Palmas is a new nomad hotspot and there’s much to explore: a charming colonial old town, surfing at Las Canteras beach, yoga, hking and tapas!
Hiking Roque Nublo
We will organise a group trip to the mountainous interior of the island where we’ll do a little hike and visit cute mountain towns. You’ll be surprised how beautiful Gran Canaria is!
Yoga is very popular in Las Palmas and you’ll have the opportunity to practice by the beach or take classes. We will also include one beach session for everyone who likes to join!
You will have unlimited access to the ReStation coworking space to get work done and stay productive. Work on projects, your business or fun stuff! All apartments are also equipped with wifi.
The mastermind sessions are the heart of our retreats. Each girl will have time to present a business challenge, project idea or other topic, will get feedback, input and feel idea-slapped afterwards.
If you have skills or knowledge that fellow nomad girls might benefit from (SEO, digital marketing, specific tools, productivity, etc.), we’d love you to share it with the group. We will also offer accountability check-ins to keep on track.
I am SO grateful that DNG came into my life. I am exploring my creativity in ways that I never have before, doors are opening, I am learning so many new tools and things and I’m just filled with an energy that I have never felt before. I went on the retreat thinking that at the very least I would get some feedback on my businesses and meet a few cool people, but I had NO IDEA the incredible benefits that I receive day after day. So, THANK YOU JENNY! THANK YOU GIRLS!Natalie
The Digital Nomad Girls retreat was something that changed my life for the better. Being able to spend 7 days surrounded by encouraging and brilliant women not only allowed for me to grow professionally but it also opened the door for new friendships that will last a lifetime. It was the best investment that I spent in 2016 that has led to new business and travel opportunities, as well as a new support group of women I know I can count on.Sienna
The DNG retreat was nothing short of life-changing: I came, I saw and I conquered. I came with the expectation of meeting some great people and having some fun. I saw that they were so much more than that – sharing common goals to change the world and live and work with purpose. I conquered fears, challenged myself, shared knowledge, experiences and stories, and from this mere one week, am a changed woman.Melissa
Who is the retreat for?
The retreat is for all digital nomad girls, no matter what background. We expect a whole range of different women from around the world, designers, developers, marketers, writers, entrepreneurs, all are welcome.
How do I sign up for the retreat?
Yay! We're so happy you want to join us!
Please fill in our application form and tell us a bit more about yourself. Once we've approved your application we will send you the booking and payment details.
Can I share a room with my friend?
Sure! Let us know in your application form who you'd like to share a room with and we'll place you together!
What are the rooms like?
The rooms are spacious double and twin rooms which have been nicely decorated. They all have a large double bed or two twin beds, storage, wifi and cute decor.
Can I bring my partner?
If you're travelling with a partner we might be able to accommodate them, however your partner will have to pay for his/her share of the double room which is €400 for 9 nights (includes access to coworking space, aside from when we're holding mastermind sessions).
What activities are there in Las Palmas?
There are a ton of activities you can do here: yoga, swimming, beach runs, hiking, surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle board, or check out some art galleries or museums. You can also explore the rest of Gran Canaria, the island has something for everyone, mountains, beaches, forests, sand dunes and cute port and mountain towns.
I'm not location independent yet, can I still join?
Yes! The retreat will be a perfect opportunity to try out the location independent lifestyle and learn from other Digital Nomad Girls. We suggest you come to the retreat with a specific goal or project in mind that you'd like to tackle.
Can I bring my kids to the retreat?
While we'd love to be able to accommodate kids, this won't be possible for this retreat. We will definitely consider it in future though.
Where exactly is Las Palmas?
Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria, one of the seven Canarian Islands. The Canaries are located in the Atlantic, west of Africa but are part of Spain and therefore the European Union. They are the warmest place in Europe in the winter and are said to have the best climate in the world.
How do I get there?
The easiest way is to fly into Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Then you can take the number 60 bus (around €3) all the way to Santa Catalina station (it stops at San Telmo first, don't get off too early!). From Santa Catalina it's only a 7 minute walk to ReStation, or a short (and cheap) taxi ride if you're an over-packer.
Do I need a visa?
That depends on your nationality and passport. Gran Canaria is part of Spain and therefore of the EU. If you're an EU citizen you won't need a visa. Please make sure you research the visa requirements for your passport and situation well before your planned travels.
Can I stay before/after the retreat?
Of course! You will have to make your own accommodation arrangements, but we can help you if needed. If you'd like to stay at ReStation beforehand, please let us know in the application form.
Will there be other people there?
Las Palmas is an up and coming nomad spot and there will be other digital nomads from around the world to meet and make friends with. We will have exclusive access to the ReStation coworking space for the duration of the retreat.
